A price-only quote gets you a number fast. It often starts at the 15/30/25 minimum, with gaps that don't show up until a claim.A coverage review finds the gaps first: your uninsured motorist form, flood, your named-storm deductible in dollars. Then we price it.
Here's what happens after you send us your ZIP: we review your household line by line, then show you three ways to build one policy, not just a price.

Many coastal policies carry a separate named-storm deductible, often a percentage of your dwelling limit. We'll find yours on your declarations page and explain what it means in dollars.

Louisiana's 15/30/25 rarely covers a serious crash on US-90 or I-10. Your insurer must offer uninsured motorist coverage at your liability limits, and turning it down takes a signed form. We size coverage to what you have to protect.
The house or duplex you rent out: the structure, the rent, and the liability many owners miss. Ask about landlord insurance.
Lender-ready binders, flood zone questions, escrow deadlines and proof of coverage, handled. One less thing between you and the keys.
A real person who knows your policy helps you start the claim and follows up until it's settled.

Louisiana requires liability limits of at least 15/30/25: $15,000 for bodily injury per person, $30,000 per accident and $25,000 for property damage. That's the legal floor, not a plan. A serious crash on US-90 or I-10 can outrun those limits fast, and you could owe the rest.
Your insurer must also offer uninsured motorist (UM) bodily injury coverage at your liability limits. Turning it down or choosing lower limits takes a signed Louisiana Department of Insurance form. UM protects you when the at-fault driver has no insurance or not enough. We'll size your limits to what you actually have to protect.
No. Standard home, condo and renters policies exclude flood. Flood is a separate policy, and as an insurance agent we can help you buy a government-run National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) policy.
NFIP policies have a 30-day waiting period in most cases, so don't wait for a storm in the Gulf. Limits go up to $250,000 for the building and $100,000 for contents. Much of Terrebonne Parish is in FEMA high-risk flood zones, and Lafayette flooded heavily in August 2016, so flood coverage is worth a look even if your lender doesn't require it.
Many coastal Louisiana home policies carry a separate deductible for named storms or hurricanes. Instead of a flat dollar amount, it's usually a percentage of your dwelling limit, such as 2% or 5%. On a home insured for $250,000, a 2% deductible means the first $5,000 of a hurricane claim is yours.
Find it on your declarations page before hurricane season, not after the storm. Ida in 2021 and Francine in 2024 were reminders that this number matters. We'll walk through yours with you and explain what changing it would do to your premium.
It's a Louisiana Department of Insurance program that offers grants of up to $10,000 to upgrade your roof to the IBHS FORTIFIED Roof standard. You must be accepted before work begins, and grant rounds open by lottery at ldi.la.gov/fortifyhomes.
A FORTIFIED roof also earns required discounts on the hurricane portion of your premium. Amounts vary by insurer and region. Louisiana also offers a state income tax credit for installing a fortified roof. If you're replacing your roof, call us first and we'll explain how it could affect your coverage and premium.
If you drive without insurance and get hurt in a crash that wasn't your fault, Louisiana limits what you can collect. Historically, uninsured drivers couldn't recover the first $15,000 in bodily injury or the first $25,000 in property damage. Both thresholds were raised to $100,000 under the 2025 reforms.
The 2025 reforms also changed comparative fault: if you're found 51% or more at fault, you can't recover damages, and below that your recovery is reduced by your share of fault. The simplest protection is to keep your coverage active.
